Woven Into Our Story

At Zaraziz, hand-knotted rugs aren't just what we sell  they're who we are. We're a third-generation family business with over 80 years of experience in the craft, and rug making runs in our blood. Our family comes from Afghanistan, a land with one of the richest weaving traditions in the world, and that heritage shaped everything we know about craft, patience, and quality.
We grew up surrounded by looms, wool, and the rhythm of knotting  learning the trade the way it's been passed down through three generations, long before it became a business. Today, we carry that knowledge forward from our home in London, bringing authentic, hand-knotted rugs to a global audience while staying rooted in where we came from.

Our Own Production, Our Own Standards
Because we own our production, we're involved in every step of the process  from selecting the wool to the final knot. Eight decades of family expertise means we can guarantee the quality, authenticity, and craftsmanship behind every rug we sell, and it means the people weaving them are never far removed from the people selling them.
We use only natural, organic vegetable dyes  the same traditional methods passed down for generations. No harsh chemicals, no synthetic shortcuts. Just colour drawn from roots, plants, and minerals, giving every rug its rich, earthy depth and ensuring it's as gentle on the planet as it is beautiful in your home.
Weaving Opportunity, Not Just Rugs
Most of our weavers are Afghan women  many of whom have limited access to steady income or formal opportunity in their communities. Our mission goes beyond selling beautiful rugs: we want to create a platform where these women can earn fair, dignified livelihoods through their skill and artistry.
That's why we donate 10% of our profits directly back to our weavers  an investment in the women whose hands make our work possible, and in the hope that their craft can build a better future for themselves and their families.
